1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the riivo Discovery service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

riivo Discovery is an AI-guided discovery platform that conducts a structured conversation with you to capture your project requirements. The Service generates project artifacts including a project summary, investment case, user journeys, wireframes, and a build-ready specification ("Artifacts"). These Artifacts are intended to assist in scoping and planning software development projects.

3. User Responsibilities

When using the Service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information during the discovery conversation;
  • Use the Service for lawful, professional purposes only;
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise misuse the Service or its outputs;
  • Not submit information that is defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or violates the rights of any third party;
  • Maintain the confidentiality of any access links or credentials provided to you.

4. Intellectual Property

The Artifacts generated from your discovery session belong to you for use in your own project. You retain ownership of the information you provide during the discovery conversation.

riivo (Pty) Ltd retains the right to use anonymized and aggregated data derived from discovery sessions for the purpose of improving the Service, training AI models, and developing new features. No personally identifiable information will be used for these purposes without your consent.

The riivo Discovery platform itself, including its AI models, user interface, and underlying technology, remains the exclusive intellectual property of riivo (Pty) Ltd.

5. Disclaimers

The Service and all Artifacts are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In particular:

  • Artifacts generated by the Service are AI-generated and informational only. They do not constitute professional legal, financial, technical, or business advice.
  • Investment estimates, timelines, and complexity assessments are approximate and should be validated by qualified professionals before making business decisions.
  • riivo (Pty) Ltd does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the outputs will meet your specific requirements.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, riivo (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service;
  • Any reliance on Artifacts generated by the Service;
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.

In no event shall riivo (Pty) Ltd's total liability to you exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

7. Data Handling and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Modifications to Terms

riivo (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes where practicable. Your continued use of the Service after any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to any modification, your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the Service.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate the engagement at any time. riivo (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at its sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to riivo (Pty) Ltd, other users, or third parties.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of the Western Cape.
